Wei Jingsheng Meets with Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile

On Thursday, February 18, 2016, Wei Jingsheng, chairman of the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, and Huang Ciping, the Executive Director met with Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, and had lunch together.

The two sides discussed how to further promote the friendly relations between the Tibetans and the Chinese, as well as how to prevent damage and mischief by the Communist regime in China. Both sides agreed that developing and maintaining friendly relations between the Tibetans and Chinese, and promoting democracy and freedom in China is our common responsibility. This is very important now, and even more important in the future.

Mr. Wei was very concerned about democratic elections and people's lives in the Tibetan exile community. Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay gave a detailed introduction about the progress of the exile community in recent years, especially of its medical insurance and free education. Mr. Wei was impressed by the magnitude of progress. He was also pleased to learn that the Indian government has improved the legal and economic status of the Tibetan exile community.

The two sides are very concerned about His Holiness the Dalai Lama's health. Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay briefed the recent health status of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Mr. Wei felt relieved upon learning the situation and wishes the Dalai Lama maintains good health and plays a long-term role for the well being of the Tibetan people.

After the meeting, both sides pledged to maintain a closer relationship and cooperation with each other, to work together to promote democracy, freedom and rule of law in China until these goals are realized.

魏京生和西藏流亡政府司政洛桑森格博士会谈

2016年2月18日星期四，魏京生基金会主席魏京生和基金会执行主任黄慈萍女士，在华盛顿特区与西藏流亡政府司政洛桑森格博士会谈，并共进了午餐。

双方共同探讨了如何进一步推进汉藏友好关系，以及防止中共破坏和挑拨离间。双方一致认为，发展和维护汉藏两个民族间的友好关系，以及推进中国的民主自由是我们共同的责任。这在今天很重要，在将来更加重要。

魏先生很关心流亡社区的民主选举和民众的生活状况。司政先生详细介绍了流亡社区近年来在医疗保险和免费教育方面的进步。魏先生对进步幅度之大感到惊奇。同时他还对印度政府改善了西藏流亡社会的法律地位和经济地位，感到欣慰。

双方都很关心达赖喇嘛的健康状况。司政先生通报了达赖喇嘛最近的健康状况。魏先生感到放心了许多，并祝达赖喇嘛保持良好的健康，为西藏人民的福祉发挥长期的作用。

会后双方都表示要保持更密切的联系和互相配合，共同推进民主自由和法制在中国实现。
