For a long time, the conventional wisdom has been that as China develops economically, capitalism will grow and that will lead to democracy.

In other words, we thought China would catch up to Hong Kong.

Now, the realization is setting in that China is not becoming freer, economically or politically.

Rather, it is trying to exert its malign influence on Hong Kong and throughout the globe.

The Chinese Communist Party prefers to do so under the radar.

Events like the one today play and important role in bringing the true nature of the Chinese Communist regime out into the light.
