"Five Things We Can Do"

-- Speech by Wei Jingsheng at the "What We Can Do?" seminar held by Club of Remy,

the 8th issue of “Wei Jingsheng’s Messages”

On March 9, 2022, Wei Jingsheng gave a speech on "5 Things We Can Do" at the "What We Can Do?" seminar held by the Club of Remy. In particular, Wei talked about the issues of concern to everyone related to the Chinese democracy movement, such as the infiltration of the CCP spies, the theory of “I have no enemies”, and how to effectively seek consensus among different political forces.

The following is an outline of Wei Jingsheng's "Five Things We Can Do" speech.

1) Maintain relations with the political and academic circles of Western democratic countries, by giving suggestions and objections to fight against the policy infiltration of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

2) Through the infighting of the CCP, guide and promote a transformation towards freedom and openness, even a small transformation.

3) Uphold the banner of democracy and freedom. Overseas pro-democracy organizations and activities are the hope of people of resistance within China. We must resist the infiltration and sowing of discord by the CCP agents, and maintain unity within the pro-democracy movement and with external groups.

4) Study the advantages and disadvantages of all aspects of the Western democratic systems, and learn the lessons from the successes and failures of different countries, so as to provide reference for a future democratic process in China.

5) Carry out public opinion guerrilla warfare against the CCP. This is not using the model of the CCP propaganda department, but each individual debates and fights back against the ideology and fallacies of autocratic dictatorship in various media. We must publicize and promote the values of democracy and freedom, and conduct an anti-brainwashing campaign against the brainwashing of the CCP agents.
