Does Blinken's Speech Set the Tone for U.S.-China Competition in the Next 10 Years?  The CCP Is Annoyed and Blocked It on the Internet; The UN Commissioner's Trip to Xinjiang Was Criticized as Whitewashing the CCP's Atrocities

On May 30, 2022, Heng He and Wei Jingsheng participated in Fangfei Talk "Interaction of the Hot Topics" program to analyze the US-China policy speech delivered by US Secretary of State Blinken last week.  The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was annoyed and blocked it completely on the Internet.  Some analysts think that the Biden administration's definition of the CCP as a competitor underestimates the threat of the CCP.  Comments were also made on whether the next 10 years will be a critical period for U.S.-China competition.  Also, after the visit to Xinjiang by UN Human Rights Commissioner Bachelet concluded, human rights activists think their fears have become reality: she has acted to whitewash the CCP's atrocities.

The following are the related questions from Fangfei Talk:

Blinken’s speech on China policy received a strong response from the CCP.  Do you think it really hit the CCP and caused pain, or is it an act of the CCP to protect its face?  What do you think of his speech being completely blocked on the whole Internet in China?

Blinken's speech received mixed reactions from the outside world.  For example, Pompeo thinks that the speech underestimated the threat of the CCP.  What do you think of Blinken's speech?  Do you think it is an effective strategy in fighting against the CCP?

What do you think of the Taiwan issue in Blinken's speech, which reiterates that U.S. policy toward Taiwan remains unchanged, but criticizes the CCP’s provocative behavior for trying to change the status quo?

Blinken said in his speech: "The next decade will be a decisive decade."  Some experts think that in the next 10 years, the two major powers of the United States and China are likely to enter into an all-round and comprehensive substantive competition.  What do you think?

When it comes to U.S.-China competition, the Pacific regime appears to be a focus.  Just today, 10 Pacific island nations rejected China's proposed comprehensive agreement on regional security and economic development.  The outside world sees this as a major setback for the CCP.  What is your opinion?

As a result of Bachelet's visit to China and Xinjiang, many human rights activists see their fears becoming a reality: her actions are a whitewash for the CCP's evil atrocities.  Bachelet claimed that she encouraged Beijing to review its counterterrorism policies to ensure compliance with international human rights standards.  How do you see the outcome of her trip?

The Washington Post published an op-ed arguing that the United Nations had become "a tool for the CCP’s propaganda to deny genocide."  What is your opinion?

Will the US return to the UN Human Rights Council and will the Biden administration's increased human rights diplomacy affect institutions like the UN?
